What Does a Digital Project Manager Do?

A Digital Project Manager is the driving force behind the successful delivery of digital projects, from website development to digital marketing campaigns. At Perth Digital Edge, our Digital Project Manager will manage cross-functional teams, liaise with clients, and ensure every project is executed efficiently and meets client expectations.

This role requires exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, marketers, and clients to deliver innovative digital solutions that achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

1. Project Planning and Management

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Monitor project progress and manage risks to ensure successful project delivery.

2. Client Communication and Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service and results.
  • Translate client requirements into clear project briefs for internal teams.

3. Cross-Functional Team Coordination

  • Manage cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and marketers, to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure everyone is aligned.

4. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and align with project objectives.
  • Conduct thorough testing of digital assets, including websites, campaigns, and applications, to identify and resolve issues.
  • Continuously optimise workflows and processes to improve project outcomes.

5. Budget and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Track expenses and ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce costs without compromising quality.

6. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to address them.
  • Proactively address issues that arise during the project lifecycle to avoid delays or scope creep.
  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and industry regulations.

7. Reporting and Documentation

  • Provide regular progress reports to clients and stakeholders, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project plans, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and improve future processes.

Skills and Qualifications We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Experience: Proven experience managing digital projects, including website development, digital marketing campaigns, or software solutions.
  • Project Management Expertise: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall) and tools like Trello, Asana, or Jira.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with digital technologies, including web development, digital marketing, and analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
