Building a platform where two distinct user types — publishers listing their sites and SEO professionals buying placements — can find each other, transact securely, and manage their activity through dedicated dashboards is a fundamentally different brief from designing and building a standard website. Every component requires bespoke logic: user registration and authentication, listing creation and moderation, search and filtering, payment processing that handles transactions between parties, and an admin layer that gives the platform owner full visibility and control.

Off-the-shelf solutions exist for pieces of this — but a marketplace serving the specific needs of Australian SEO professionals, with the right data architecture, the right user experience, and the right trust signals for an industry that is acutely aware of platform quality, needed to be built properly from the ground up. The design had to communicate credibility immediately to an audience that evaluates websites for a living.

We designed and built Au Backlinks as a complete software product — custom backend, full frontend, and every system required to run a live two-sided marketplace. The platform was architected around two distinct user roles: publishers who list their Australian websites and manage incoming placement requests, and SEO buyers who search, filter, and purchase link opportunities directly through the platform.

The backend was built from the ground up to support all four core systems: user account management with role-based access, a listing and discovery engine that makes it easy to find relevant Australian placements by niche, domain metrics, and price, a secure payment gateway handling transactions between users, and a comprehensive admin dashboard giving full platform oversight, moderation capability, and operational visibility. The design was built to the standard the audience demands — clean, fast, and credible, because the people using it evaluate web quality professionally and expect the platform they are trusting with their campaigns to reflect that.

Au Backlinks launched as a complete, fully operational platform — two user roles, a functional listing marketplace, live payment processing, and a backend admin system all working together from day one.
