Trade Heroes is an online directory platform connecting homeowners and businesses with verified, rated tradespeople across Australia. The concept was strong but the platform did not exist — we were engaged to design, build, brand, and grow it from the ground up. That meant custom development, an SEO architecture built for scale, and a marketing strategy capable of driving real user growth from day one.

Building a Platform That Needs to Work for Two Audiences at Once.

A directory platform is one of the most technically and commercially complex builds a digital agency takes on. Trade Heroes needed to simultaneously attract homeowners searching for tradies and tradespeople willing to pay to be listed — neither audience has a reason to show up until the other does.

Beyond the chicken-and-egg problem, the platform required custom user and admin login systems, payment gateway integration for tradie subscriptions, and an SEO architecture capable of ranking at scale across hundreds of trade categories and locations. Everything had to be built from zero, and it had to grow fast.

The SEO architecture was designed for scale from day one — trade category and location-specific URL structures, optimised listing pages, and a content marketing program targeting the searches homeowners use when looking for a local tradie.
